About District Speaker's Bureau

If you would like to request a speaker, please download the form here.

What is a District Speaker?

She is a member of the District Board of Directors and a resource/consultant to District Sisterhoods

What expenses does the local Sisterhood incur by having her?

District speakers will be available for in person events.  Expenses will be very little,  treat her as you would a guest in your home. Assist her in making transportation connections if she is not driving. The District will pay for hotel (if she is not staying in someone's home) and transportation costs.  If she prefers staying at a hotel, assist in those arrangements.

Are District Speakers available virtually?

Yes, District speakers are available virtually as needed.  There is no limit on the number of virtual speakers a sisterhood can have.

What will she speak about?

She will speak about any subject pertaining to Sisterhood activities including Sisterhood Shabbat, installation of officers, Leadership training and problem solving as needed. It is expected to utilize her services at a Board Meeting.

How often is a District Speaker available to a local Sisterhood?

Just as with Women of Reform Judaism, the District can only honor one request per Sisterhood on alternate years, thus allowing every Sisterhood with a WRJ speaker or a District speaker each year.

How is a District Speaker requested?

Requests for a District Speaker should be emailed to the Speaker's Bureau Coordinator at least eight (8) weeks before the date desired.

How is a District Speaker honored?

A contribution to the WRJ Southeast district in honor of the Speaker is appreciated.
