Hello!

I’m Faith Alexander from Congregation Schaarai Zedek Sisterhood in Tampa, FL and I will be your district president for the 2023-2026 term.  I can’t tell you how happy I was to see so many of you in Tampa and not in a tiny square on a zoom screen.  It felt so wonderful to be together in person and I hope that many of you experienced some of that WRJ convention magic that we have been talking about.

I want to thank all of the wonderful women of our district who helped to plan and put on the convention.  As I said at Convention, much of the initial planning was a guessing game.  We had no idea what to expect.  In the last couple of months we did some catching up.  Why? Because, you all exceeded our initial attendance estimates. We thank you for trusting us and traveling to be at Convention.

Thank you again to the women who retired from our district board this year.  We truly appreciate your service to our district. To our incoming board, I look forward to working with each and every one of you.  To our past district presidents, I know that I have sought guidance from each of you already and I appreciate your wisdom.  A special thank you goes to Madelyn Davidson, Immediate Past President. Our time together was unique to say the least, but I thoroughly enjoyed working with you.

I am supposed to tell you what I have planned for my term. Of course, I would like to travel and visit as many sisterhoods as possible, continue our efforts to increase our presence on the WRJ Board that Madelyn started and work on gaining some new affiliates.  However, after what we have been through the last couple of years, the only promise I will make to you is that I will try to be flexible and do the best that I can with what I am given and have fun along the way.  I truly believe that this is all we can ask of ourselves. Let’s do the best we can for the Southeast District together and have as much fun as we can along the way.
