MANY CANDLES, ONE WORLD Chanukah Gala

As you make plans for Chanukah this year, we want to invite you to a very special gala on Sunday, December 13 at 8pm ET. Sponsored by the World Union for Progressive Judaism, this “Many Candles, One World” program will be an hour filled with music, light, and joy. There will be celebrities from Broadway, Hollywood, and Israel. Cantors from around the world will create a virtual choir, and adorable children will sing traditional Chanukah songs. The gala is being streamed on the Central Synagogue of New York City YouTube channel. 

There is no charge to attend, but we hope you will be inspired to make a gift to the World Union for Progressive Judaism. WRJ and WUPJ have a long and warm partnership. As WRJ women, we understand the importance of nurturing Progressive Jewish communities around the world. Funds raised for this gala will establish a new “WUPJ Education Fund for the Future”. The fund will provide scholarships for individuals to attend camps, schools, and training programs – all to focus on deepening the knowledge and confidence needed to create a generation of extraordinary professional and volunteer leaders to transform our communities.
